This website was a few years old, and the client wanted some updates. I replaced the main page slider. The new slider looked better and brought a big speed boost. I updated the contact forms for a better user experience, and made various small fixes to improve speed and reliability.
This was a new site for a new business. It was built using the OxygenBuilder, which produces fast and SEO-friendly code, but takes much less time to build pages than you'd spend on a typical WordPress theme. The site includes a form that can calculate the cost of most jobs, saving the time and cost they would have needed to make visits for estimations.
This blog is a collaboration with a graphic designer, who provided custom graphics that reflected the website's quirky nature. It was also built for speed using OxygenBuilder, but includes Elementor for added design features.
I managed the website for the author, Louise Bay. I made regular updates to page content and the Wordpress software, troubleshooting problems as required. It was important to display new books with their cover art, and to ensure that all buy links contained affiliate information to maximize revenue.
I am thankful to live and work on the traditional territories of the Lekwungen people, now known as the Esquimalt and Songhees First Nations, part of the Coast Salish peoples of the Pacific Northwest.
